Department of Mathematics

Increasingly, websites are driving the first impression that prospective students, faculty, and funders have of an educational institution. To highlight its modern, forward-looking approach to research, the Mathematics Department at the University of California Berkeley completely rebuilt its outdated site on a new Drupal platform. In addition to a clean, modern design, the site features automated events list and fully searchable faculty and course listings.

Department of South & Southeast Asian Studies

The Department's original Web site had fallen behind on updates because making changes required a slow process of submitting change requests to busy IT staff who had to manually update the HTML in each page. Their new Drupal-based site allows Department staff to make changes immediately and without need for HTML training. Faculty members, too, have direct access to their profile pages which they can update as needed with their latest bio, CV, and publication info.

Gateau et Ganache
The Online Home of Award-Winning Chocolates

As Gateau et Ganache began expanding its award-winning chocolate and marshmallow business, we worked together to keep its Web site in step. The complete overhaul more accurately reflects the luxurious nature of the company's French-style chocolates and makes managing online sales a breeze. Custom modules for electronic gift certificates, delivery date, and gift cards allow customers to send the perfect gift. Graphic design by Nina Samarguliani @ Moving Vision.

Riding for a Cause

This cycling tour features Team RadioShack professional cyclist, Chris Horner, who will take riders through scenic Bend, Oregon. The site not only allows riders to register and pay their fees online, but also collects donations in variable amounts for four charitable organizations. I developed the backend with Drupal and Ubercart, while the site architecture and design was done by Island Pinnick of OneDotOver.

Digital Camera Resource Page
Simplifying the Publishing Process

With nearly 15 years providing unbiased reviews of digital cameras, the Digital Camera Resource Page recently made the decision to ugrade the underlying technology it uses to manage and serve reviews. Together we set up a Drupal-based content management system for reviews that integrates into the larger site and gives DCRP the flexibility to publish multi-page reviews and their corresponding photo galleries in significantly less time than through the old process. Plus, the system allows for future expansion.

Apploops
A Better Way to Discover Apps

Apploops puts an end to the needle-in-a-haystack problem of finding good apps by recommending apps based on activity. Going on a business trip? Here are five apps to take along. But how do you build a site that's "aware" of the hundreds-of-thousands of apps in the Apple App store without having to regularly download and sync a massive database? You customize Drupal.

SF Public Press
A News Site for the 21st Century

Responding to the need for a closer look at issues affecting San Francisco, the not-for-profit SF Public Press launched in 2008 on a blog-centric Drupal 5 site. As the publication gained in popularity, the organization contacted me to help them create a news site for the 21st century -- one that would help them showcase their special reports and make their publishing process more efficient. The resulting Drupal 6 site features image galleries, audio, video, comments, aggregated news feeds -- and yes, multiple blogs.

The FruitGuys
Custom Shopping Cart

Shipping fruit around the country and ensuring it arrives on-time and tastes just as fresh as the day it was picked is no easy business. When The FruitGuys needed a system that could handle the complexity of multiple product attributes, shipping restrictions, and seasonal availability -- and make it all seamless to the customer, they called on the great team at FivePaths to help. Working in partnership with that team, I customized Drupal's Ubercart ecommerce solution to offer an interactive AJAX front-end for selecting fruit delivery options.
